Thanks so much for dropping by. Here you'll learn a little more about what Craft At Home is all about and of course, I'll share a little information about me.
If you have had any time at all to browse through my website, you'll know that someone loves to make things! That's me...
First, let me introduce myself and tell you a little about Craft At Home. My name is Susan and back in 1999, I decided to create this website, as a place to share my handcrafts and ideas.
For as long as I can remember, I have made things. All sorts of things. As a child, I couldn't wait to try a hot iron, sewing machine and weaving machine, but those would have to wait until "I was old enough". Until then, I'd have to settle for children's scissors, non-toxic glue and all those "childish" things. Moms can be so under estimating at times!

Here is the place that all of my creations happen... My craft studio and my most inspiring and happy place to be!

Who We Are
To my Mother, I dedicate this website and all that it has to offer. Without her consistent encouragement, this website could
not be possible. Allowing me to create at the earliest possible age and always ever so encouraging, she has been the
driving force behind all that I create. Her creative talents far exceeded mine, but I know that she would be oh so proud, to
have this website dedicated to her.
Currently, I spend most of my time at the sewing machine, creating one-of-a-kind purses, pillows, quilts and things. Creating
has always been a passion for me and sharing it with all of you, makes my days a whole bunch brighter!
Here at Craft At Home you will find hundreds of free craft projects and ideas, all with instructions and photos to guide you
along. What you won't find are advertising banners and those annoying pop up windows. My website is advertising free! All
links that are directed outside of this website are strictly direct links without advertiser insertions, etc. My website has been
designed to make finding your way around a breeze.
I sincerely hope that you will enjoy your time here at Craft At Home and I always welcome your comments.
Just recently, I have decided to offer a few of my one-of-kind creations at both Ebay and my Etsy Shop. I am always happy to
consider custom orders for items that are similar to sold pieces. I do not however, duplicate anything that I make. I would
love for you to purchase one of my creations, but I much prefer that you browse through this website and see if you can't
find something, you'd like to make yourself.
Over the years, crafting has been the best therapy for all that ails me and I hope that perhaps, you'll find the same pleasure
that crafting gives me. You may want to grab a nice cup of tea before you get started... I think you may be here for a while.
As a child, I spent many long hours sitting with bundles of yarn wrapped across each arm, while Mom patiently rolled each
bundle into balls. I couldn't wait for the day when I could actually knit and crochet, just like Mom!
At the age of seven, I was finally afforded the opportunity to use the hot iron! Oh what a thrill that was! This meant that I
could take old scraps of fabric, press them until they appeared new again and save them for the day that Mom would teach
me to sew! Unfortunately, Mom preferred other things over sewing and it took a few years of my collecting old fabrics, before
Mom finally agreed to teach me the basics of sewing. By the age of 12, I was efficient enough on a sewing machine, to whip
up a simple outfit.
I still remember my first complete outfit consisting of a pretty navy blue top and navy blue and white-checkered pants. I was
so proud of my very first outfit!
I don't make many clothes anymore, but love making personal accessories and home decor things.
I especially love working with fabrics that may have been useful in days gone by, but have out lived their previous function.
Transforming an otherwise useless tablecloth, linen, etc. into something new is my all time favorite thing to do.
Though Accounting was my career choice, I have always worked creatively. Many hours have been spent teaching arts and
crafts classes, writing "how to" articles for publication and best of all, volunteering for local youth groups, teaching life skills.
Now, as I desperately try to retire from accounting, I have much more time to dedicate to what I love doing the most. Making
things! I am ever so thankful for all of the blessings that have been given to me!
