Doily Sachet

located at the bottom of this page.
Material:
Doily (cotton is the best, synthetic fabrics won't hold the scent as well), choice of size.
Ribbon
Hot glue (for children use tacky glue)
Soap (bars, small decorator soaps, etc)
Cheese cloth scraps (tulle or something similar)

How to:
These are easy to make and instead of pot pourri or sachet pellets, you can use regular old bar soap.  I used
a five inch doily for these.  Fold your doily in half and weave a strip of ribbon through the holes in the doily
(refer to photo), beginning at one end of the fold and ending at the other end of the fold.

Pull the centre (where the bow is), cut your ribbon and tie a shoe lace bow.

Glue each of the cut ends of ribbon, by folding the end over and gluing to the opposite side of the ribbon.
Tuck the ribbon end inside the doily so it is not visible.

You can wrap pot pourri or sachet pellets in cheese cloth and insert them in the centre, but small soap bars
or shavings of soap can be wrapped in a little cheese cloth and inserted in the centre.

They make fabulous additions to your clothing drawers or hang up in your closet.
